Tebow’s New Throwing Motion, Invited to New York

Posted by admin on March 17th, 2010   No Comment

Former Gator quarterback Tim Tebow reveled his new throwing motion during the pro day that occurred earlier today in he Swamp and was also invited to New York along with teammate Joe Haden for the NFL Draft on April 22-24.

Chris Mortensen from ESPN reported that Tebow did accept the invite for the upcoming draft. Tebow, who threw in front of several pro scouts and coaches today did pretty well. The coaches who already showed interest in Tim were also real impressed by his overall performance during the event today and Tebow himself was pretty impressed.

His throwing motion is far beyond better and smoother than it was before. Give him props, he had five weeks to work with changing his motion, it looked pretty impressive. You could tell the ball was being released much quicker also. Tim does need a little bit of tweaks and some more work but it was definitely a positive day. There is still a lot of improvement that can be made. As long as he can continue to work on his weaknesses and get those old habits out of the way, hes going to be pretty satisfied with his draft status. But knowing Tebow, as long as he is drafted that is all the matters.

I know Gator fans would like for Tim Tebow to be drafted by the Jaguars, but it’s really not a smart move. Watching the ESPN video about Tebow today, they talked about how if he was drafted by Jacksonville they would expect to play him right away, and that’s not what he needs. He needs to be selected by teams such as the Colts, Patriots, Saints, or any team with a veteran quarterback so he can learn and become a lot better. Give him two years behind a veteran quarterback and you will see him as a possible starter somewhere. With the talent he already has and that much work effort he is always giving out, there is no doubt in my mind he will become a starting NFL quarterback.

Others who are expected to be invited to New York along with Tebow are Oklahoma’s quarterback Sam Bradford, Notre Dame’s Jimmy Clausen and Texas’ Colt McCoy. The list of all players who are invited has not been released yet but will once it is.

Here is a video of Tebow’s throwing motion from today.

Live Updates: Pro Day For The Gators

Posted by admin on March 17th, 2010   No Comment

The Florida Gators feature more than 15 players who are working out today in front of NFL scouts in the Swamp. So its going to be pretty busy today. There are tons of coaches and players throughout the country present as well. We have already seen coach Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and former Gator receiver Percy Harvin. Ahmad Black is here just witnessing this great event.

I will be releasing some information by the GSN staff who are at the Swamp and sources such as twitter and Jeremy Fowler from the Orlando Sentinel who is present at the event and is providing tons of inside info on the players and how they are doing, especially former Gator quarterback Tim Tebow and his new throwing motion.

Here is some live news updates on the following players:

Joe Haden- Already has impressed scouts on film this past season for Florida. Everybody knows he can jump and defend the pass. His fourty time is the most important thing today. Haden Ran a 4.44 and said he was upset of the time. He doesn’t think he did good enough.

Brandon Spikes- Clocked at a 5.05 on his second 40 attempt. Spikes suffered from several injuries last season but the scouts and coaches know how much talent he has. Hopefully he can turn it up today and make up from the time he missed throughout the season. But I am not to surprised about his fourty time because he has been out of shape from those nagging injuries.

Tim Tebow- Is set to throw at 12:15

Others who are in attendance:

- Carlos Dunlap – Aaron Hernandez – Maurkice Pouncey – Ryan Stamper – Major Wright – David Nelson – Wondy Pierre-Louis – Markihe Anderson

More updates will be released-

Does change in Tebow’s throwing motion equal NFL success?

Posted by admin on February 22nd, 2010   No Comment

Tim Tebow, in preparation for this years NFL draft, has begun working with a team of coaches in Nashville, TN including Zeke Bratkowski* *a former NFL offensive coordinator. The main objective for Tim is to work on his delayed throwing motion that many experts have said will cause his delivery to be too slow at the NFL level. Tebow’s mechanics have been liked to that of Byron Leftwich, a mobile quarter back who had trouble in his transition to the NFL. Gator fans have heard this before with previously highly touted Quarterbacks. Fellow Heisman award winner Danny Wuerffel faced draft day controversy as many claimed his success was more to do with coach Steve Spurrier’s system than actual ability. Number fifteen is also working on taking snaps under center to show he can be a drop back QB at the next level.

This story really shows the disparity between that of the NFL and the collegiate level. Tim Tebow, an athlete that many people will claim to be the greatest college football player to ever touch the field is having to completely change the way he plays the game to fit into the NFL mold. This happens year after year, where an elite quarterback fails miserably once breaking into the NFL. USC quarterback Matt Leinart, another Heisman award winner was selected tenth overall in the 2006 draft and has been a flop thus far in his career. This phenomenon also happens the other way; if you take a look at the elite quarterbacks in the NFL it may surprise you where they got their starts. Possibly the most unlikely rise to the NFL is that of Bret Favre who played his college career at Southern Mississippi, the only school that offered him a scholarship. It just goes to show that nothing is guaranteed when it comes to the NFL.

Tim has been projected as… well depends on who you are listening to. Around Gainesville, some people are thinking he is the only hope for the Jaguars to stay in Jacksonville. ESPN has him somewhere between the second and fourth round, but no one truly knows what will happen on draft day. Will this new throwing motion have an effect on his draft status? Only time will tell; Tebow plans to display his new throwing technique on March 17 at his pro day in Gainesville, FL.

Tebow Still Battling Sickness Before Senior Bowl Game

Posted by admin on January 29th, 2010   1 Comment

Former Florida Gator quarterback Tim Tebow has battled off SEC defenses, criticisms from every NFL scout, and now, the former Gator is battling a sickness before his one chance to shine in front of the scouts.

Tebow has been suffering from strep throat throughout his workouts this week and hasn’t really showed any sign of recovery and its right before the Senior Bowl game.

Jeremy Fowler from the Orlando Sentinel was told that Tebow is still very sick as of Friday afternoon. He looked real pale during the walkthrough on Friday. During the game on Saturday, Tebow will be splitting time with both Oklahoma State’s Zac Robinson and West Virginia’s Jarrett Brown.

Monday is when it started and was probably the worst for Tim. He suffered from a 103.5 degree fever and also dealt with sweating throughout the night.

We all know how tough Tebow is and I don’t think he cares how sick he is, he will still probably fight through it and play but let’s just pray and hope he recovers and is ready to go for Saturday.

Tebow Moving On: Will Attend Senior Bowl, Hires Agent

Posted by admin on January 9th, 2010   No Comment

It’s going to be difficult to see Tebow wearing another uniform, but it will happen soon. Tebow has taken two steps closer to becoming an NFL draftee. He had recently decided that he will enter the Senior Bowl, which many people felt he would pass up because of the style of offense they run in the game. In addition to the attending the Senior Bowl, Tebow has hired an agent, Jimmy Sexton of Athletic Resources Management, to represent him in his hopes of becoming an NFL star.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen has reported that Tebow has decided to play in the Under Armour Senior Bowl on Jan. 30 that will take place in Mobile, Ala. Tim will be playing quarterback for the south and will be coaches by the Miami Dolphins staff. Tebow may be a first round pick in the draft after a career performance he had in the Sugar Bowl against Cincinnati but he will have another shot to impress some NFL scouts who will be present at the Senior Bowl game.

Most of the top senior quarterbacks chose not to attend or throw at the NFL combine, but Tebow chooses otherwise. He still may need some work and needs every shot he can get so he can try and raise his draft stock.

Tebow Gathers Two More SEC Honors

Posted by admin on December 9th, 2009   No Comment

It has just been a day after nine Florida Gator football players were nominated on the 2009 All-SEC team that were all voted by the coaches who represent the conference, the SEC has declared senior Gator quarterback Tim Tebow has been named the 2009 SEC offensive player of the year and also along with that he was named as the 2009 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the year.

Tebow already won both awards last year, and mainly why he won them again this year had to due with the four NCAA records that were broken.

Tim also joins other former Gator quarterbacks with back to back winners of the SEC offensive player of the year, Shane Matthews (1990-1991) and Danny Wuerffel (1955-1996).

On Tuesday night Tebow was also honored the William V. Campbell Trophy, which is known for the Academic Heisman.

Tim Tebow As A Receiver?

Posted by admin on December 5th, 2009   2 Comments

It looked like Florida Gator quarterback Tim Tebow was having some fun running several routes during the Gators walkthrough at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta before they face off against Alabama in the SEC championship.

Tebow spent most of his time just messing around with other teammates and assistant coaches by running routes and catching passes. It seemed like Tim really was having a good time playing wide receiver to. Maybe he might be practicing the role he could be playing in the NFL? Who knows. Here are two videos that were captured.
