For all of those Tebow doubters out there who thought Tim couldn’t play in the NFL, you may want to watch some film of tonight’s game. Yeah he has only started two games this year but his numbers say it all.

Tim Tebow marched the Broncos 76 yards down the field and capitalized with a 6 yard rushing touchdown that put the Broncos (4-11) ahead 24-23 with only three minutes remaining. As soon as Tebow reached the sideline he was yelling and getting his teammates all fired up. Reminds you of when he was in the good ole Orange and Blue eh?

The Texans took over the next possession and got all the way down to the Denver 40 yard line but had their pass intercepted on second down by Syd’Quan Thompson. Tebow got back on the field with a 1:12 left and just took a few final knees to end the game. Tebow met with the opposing coaches, grasping the game ball with the media swarming all around him like a bunch of bee’s.

Tim is becoming more relaxed and more in control with the ball. The last two starts have been great for him. He finished with 138 passing yards along with a touchdown against the Raiders and tonight he finished 16/29 for 308 passing yards, 1 passing and 1 rushing touchdown and one interception. He also rushed for 27 yards on 10 carries.

Denver is back in action next Sunday against the San Diego Chargers and we are hoping for another start by Tebow which will probably be announced during the next couple of days. The game will also be shown on CBS at 4:14 pm.

Well Gator fans the wait is over. You will now get to witness former Florida Gator quarterback Tim Tebow make his first career start as a Denver Bronco today at Oakland according to several sources.

Kyle Orton is suffering from bruised ribs so Tebow has been taking every snap during practice. Tebow has made only a few appearances as a Bronco, only throwing one touchdown pass this season. Today is his time to shine, finally getting the golden opportunity he has been waiting on.

Interim coach Eric Studesville reported this week that Orton is still the starting quarterback but said that the whole quarterback situation wasn’t yet settled because of the status of Orton’s injury.

Orton has been sacked 34 times, a career high for him. He has also thrown close to 500 passes this season. Orton showed obvious pain when he stepped up to the podium to speak this week and said his arm wasn’t the problem. But what happened the past couple of weeks Orton? Nothing but bad performances. We should of seen Tebow a lot this season because Orton did not impress me much at all. I believe former coach Josh McDaniels had several opportunities where he could of put Tebow in the game for Orton but he didn’t, even when they were behind three or four touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

You can see Tim Tebow and the Broncos on CBS today at 4:30pm.

When offensive coordinator Dan Mullen left Urban Meyer’s staff to be the head coach at Mississippi State, he took part of the offensive staff with him. Mullen did leave behind offensive line coach Steve Addazio, who took over the play calling duties and showed that Mullen had taken some creativity also. But now, with a year of calling plays for the gators under his belt, Addazio looks to unleash the entire playbook on opposing defenses.

After a season in which the Gators offense looked a bit stagnant at times and play calling which was clearly conservative, Coach Addazio will now look to “pencil whip” his opponents much the same way Mullen did in his years as offensive coordinator.

In Addazio’s defense, the Gator’s offense didn’t exactly have a wealth of options at wide receiver in 2009, which limited his options a bit. And, even while being hamstrung with a thin group of receivers, the Gator offense was still able to lead the SEC in total offense, while coming in second in rushing yards, passing yards and scoring offense. Many of these numbers can easily be attributed to the presence of Tim Tebow, but don’t discount Addazio’s offensive prowess.

Addazio now has athletes such as Andre DeBose, who is now 100% healthy and Chris Rainey, who switched from running back to receiver this offseason to mix things up with. Throw in the stable of athletes coming out of the backfield such as the speedy Jeff Demps and some guy by the name of Brantley, and Steve has plenty of toys to pencil whip opposing defenses.

Look for the 2010 Florida Gators get back to the big play, score from anywhere at any time offense we have all grown accustomed to.

Today is the day he’s been waiting for his entire life. All the preparation, motivation and determination will come to fruition tonight. Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos will take the field in a much anticipated preseason opener.

The Broncos will take the field at 7:00 PM to take on the Cincinnati Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium.

Gator Nation has sat in not-so quiet anticipation for the past eight months to see their legend take the field in another jersey. It may be fitting that the colors haven’t changed, although the weather has.

Though not the starter for tonight’s game, Tebow will be the star attraction. He will likely see action in the third and fourth quarters with the third team offense. But the end of game scenario is something Tebow is accustomed to; leading the Gators to a few nail biting finishes.

So, tune in tonight to see our quarterback begin the NFL chapter of his legend.

The last time we saw the Urban Meyer’s Gators take the field, nearly a month had gone by since the gut wrenching loss to Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship Game. The collective wind was knocked almost completely out of Gator Nation’s lungs. However, Urban Meyer, Tim Tebow and company rode off into the sunset by putting it to the Cincinnati Bearcats. At that moment, the Tim Tebow era ended…

… On the verge of beginning life after Tebow, John Brantley is clogging around fall practice in those huge shoes. All of Gator Nation is holding their breath, hoping young Jonny Brantley can grow into those shoes.

For the first time, fall practices will be closed to the public as well as the media. Sadly, we’ll all have to wait another few weeks to see our new Gators take the field. At this point in the year, the mystery is almost too much to handle, but will make opening day that much more special.

After losing so many great players to the NFL over the offseason, Urban Meyer has spoke of the “newness” and “freshness” in the air, surrounding this team. Newness and freshness may be an understatement with all the turnover we have witnessed in the past eight months.

There are many questions being posed for this season.

How well will John Brantley perform outside of Tim Tebow’s shadow?

With a cannon arm and an NFL type of pocket presence, expect Brantley to be a dark horse candidate for the Heisman Trophy.

How much support will Brantley receive from the receiver group?

Andre Debose hopes to have an impact after an injury-shortened 2009. Deonte Thompson comes into camp as the most productive returning receiver from 2009. Maybe the most intriguing receiving prospect is converted running back Chris Rainey. Rainey looks to have a Percy Harvin-type of impact this season; getting the ball in space any way he can.

Can the running back group avoid a letdown?

The lone group not picked apart by the NFL, the running back group should pick up where they left off. Jeff Demps should be improved and handle a lion’s share of the touches out of the backfield. If Emanuel Moody can stay healthy, he can take some of Demps’ carries, but any more that 50 touches should be considered a bonus.

Can the offensive line replace Maurkice Pouncey?

Replacing Pouncey is the only real question mark in this unit. Expect someone to emerge in the coming weeks to play next to the Pouncey left behind. Barring injury, this unit will be solid.

Among many question marks on defense, can new defensive coordinator, Teryl Austin pick up where Charlie Strong left off?

Even though this unit lost superstars at all three levels, there is immense talent all over the defense. If Teryl Austin can point the young guys in the right direction and the leftover veterans can provide solid play and leadership, this unit should compete with most teams. Look for the defense to improve over the course of the season and don’t be surprised by a rocky start to the season.

Come September 4th, The Swamp will be ready to swallow up opponents. Miami of Ohio will be the first to enter.

On Thursday night, at the NFL Draft in New York, the Florida Gators tied a 1989 school record with three University of Florida football players selected in the first round.

Just as expected, the first Gator to be drafted was cornerback Joe Haden. Haden was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the seventh overall pick in the draft. This makes him the highest a defensive back has ever been picked coming from UF.

Next up, at the 18th selection, was offensive lineman Maurkice Pouncey. Pouncey got picked up by the Pittsburgh Steelers who say they may start him out as a right guard instead of at the center position. No matter what position on the offensive line Maurkice ends up playing, he’ll be great. He’s a very flexible o-lineman and could play any position on the line if asked.

The biggest surprise in round one of the NFL Draft was the selection of college football legend, Tim Tebow. The former Heisman Trophy winner got taken by the Denver Broncos withthe 25th overall pick. Nobody expected that at all, especially after all the sports analysts talked so badly about him and so-called “exposed” his mechanics. When interviewed at his private ceremony in Jacksonville, Tim said he was absolutely thrilled and will work as hard as he can to become a successful NFL quarterback. All it took was one team to believe in Tim Tebow and it was Coach Josh McDaniels and the Denver Broncos. Tebow got what he deserved – a chance in the NFL to prove critics wrong, and he surely did.

Starting at 6pm (EST), rounds two and three of the NFL Draft will take place and the Gators still have a few players in the draft. Linebacker Brandon Spikes, defensive end Jermaine Cunningham, tight end Aaron Hernandez, safety Major Wright, and wide receiver Riley Cooper could all be selected tonight.

According to Rotoworld.com, which is a site that concentrates on fantasy sports news, former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow has decided not to attend this year’s NFL draft in New York. As of right now, it’s just a rumor. It has not been confirmed by Tim’s agent or any members of the Tebow family.

Among the latest players to accept an NFL draft invitation are former Clemson running back C.J. Spiller and former Florida cornerback Joe Haden.

Tebow implied his possible decision a few weeks ago when he said that he might just spend some time with his family, possibly fishing with his father similar to what former Wisconsin offensive lineman Joe Thomas did a few years ago. Nothing is official as of right now until confirmed by the Tebow himself, his agent or his family.

Other notable quarterbacks that have yet to accept NFL draft invitations are former Texas star Colt McCoy and Notre Dame’s Jimmy Clausen.

With the 2010 NFL Draft just around the corner, there are eight players who have accepted the invitation to the draft in New York City, but Tebow is not one of the eight.

Ben Volin of Gator Bytes reported that on Saturday at Tebow’s autograph signing in Palm Beach Gardens, Tim said he has not made a final decision yet if he will be attending. Tebow stated that his decision will be based on if he will be able to spend some time with his family during the draft.

Volin reported the following quote from Tebow;

“Is it going to be easy to be with everyone? Because that’s such a moment that will be exciting and special, so I don’t want to just celebrate that with people that I don’t really know and haven’t really been around just to be there in New York,” Tebow said. “So if that’s something we can work out or not, I’ll probably be with my family. I think it’s also just figuring out what’s with my schedule and everything. But then also just being around my family and figuring out what would be fun and what would be the easiest, most relaxed, comfortable spot.”

Usually the NFL only invites around maybe twelve players to the draft but this year it has been extended to about two dozen prospects. Other quarterbacks along with Tebow who have not made a final decision yet are Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy and Jimmy Clausen.

The players will appear in New York on Tuesday which is the night of the draft and they will also be helping out by holding charities and sponsor several events, including a special visit to a children’s hospital before Thursday. So it’s a pretty special thing these players will be doing as well. They are definitely getting something out of their visit to New York besides being selected to play professional football.

Here is the list of players who are already accepted their invite. (Gathered by Volin)

Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma
Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State
Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech
Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma
Dan Williams, DT, Tennessee
Eric Berry, S, Tennessee
Jared Odrick, DT, Penn State

Gator Sports Nation may be catching up with Tebow for an interview in April, so stay tuned.

Former Gator quarterback Tim Tebow reveled his new throwing motion during the pro day that occurred earlier today in he Swamp and was also invited to New York along with teammate Joe Haden for the NFL Draft on April 22-24.

Chris Mortensen from ESPN reported that Tebow did accept the invite for the upcoming draft. Tebow, who threw in front of several pro scouts and coaches today did pretty well. The coaches who already showed interest in Tim were also real impressed by his overall performance during the event today and Tebow himself was pretty impressed.

His throwing motion is far beyond better and smoother than it was before. Give him props, he had five weeks to work with changing his motion, it looked pretty impressive. You could tell the ball was being released much quicker also. Tim does need a little bit of tweaks and some more work but it was definitely a positive day. There is still a lot of improvement that can be made. As long as he can continue to work on his weaknesses and get those old habits out of the way, hes going to be pretty satisfied with his draft status. But knowing Tebow, as long as he is drafted that is all the matters.

I know Gator fans would like for Tim Tebow to be drafted by the Jaguars, but it’s really not a smart move. Watching the ESPN video about Tebow today, they talked about how if he was drafted by Jacksonville they would expect to play him right away, and that’s not what he needs. He needs to be selected by teams such as the Colts, Patriots, Saints, or any team with a veteran quarterback so he can learn and become a lot better. Give him two years behind a veteran quarterback and you will see him as a possible starter somewhere. With the talent he already has and that much work effort he is always giving out, there is no doubt in my mind he will become a starting NFL quarterback.

Others who are expected to be invited to New York along with Tebow are Oklahoma’s quarterback Sam Bradford, Notre Dame’s Jimmy Clausen and Texas’ Colt McCoy. The list of all players who are invited has not been released yet but will once it is.

Here is a video of Tebow’s throwing motion from today.

The Florida Gators feature more than 15 players who are working out today in front of NFL scouts in the Swamp. So its going to be pretty busy today. There are tons of coaches and players throughout the country present as well. We have already seen coach Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and former Gator receiver Percy Harvin. Ahmad Black is here just witnessing this great event.

I will be releasing some information by the GSN staff who are at the Swamp and sources such as twitter and Jeremy Fowler from the Orlando Sentinel who is present at the event and is providing tons of inside info on the players and how they are doing, especially former Gator quarterback Tim Tebow and his new throwing motion.

Here is some live news updates on the following players:

Joe Haden- Already has impressed scouts on film this past season for Florida. Everybody knows he can jump and defend the pass. His fourty time is the most important thing today. Haden Ran a 4.44 and said he was upset of the time. He doesn’t think he did good enough.

Brandon Spikes- Clocked at a 5.05 on his second 40 attempt. Spikes suffered from several injuries last season but the scouts and coaches know how much talent he has. Hopefully he can turn it up today and make up from the time he missed throughout the season. But I am not to surprised about his fourty time because he has been out of shape from those nagging injuries.

Tim Tebow- Is set to throw at 12:15

Others who are in attendance:

- Carlos Dunlap – Aaron Hernandez – Maurkice Pouncey – Ryan Stamper – Major Wright – David Nelson – Wondy Pierre-Louis – Markihe Anderson

More updates will be released-
