Gator LB Brendan Beal to be released

Florida Gator redshirt sophomore linebacker Brendan Beal has asked the University of Florida for a release from his scholarship and is going to transfer.

“We have granted permission for other schools to contact Brendan Beal,” Florida football spokesman Steve McClain said Monday morning.

Ever since Beal started playing for the Gators, he has been battling with injuries. The four star recruiting from Bangor, PA enrolled back in January 2008 but sat out the entire season due to an ACL tear in his left knee. Then in 2009, Beal sustained an injury in the preseason which caused him not to see the field.

We wish the former parade All-American the best of luck and hopefully he finds a home that suits him best.
