    Florida to play K-State

The Florida Gators basketball team will face off with the Kansas State Wildcats in the Metro PCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic on December 18th. The matchup is an upgrade to an already robust out of conference schedule for Florida who is scheduled to play Ohio State, Xavier, and Florida State this upcoming season.

It seems that the Florida coaching staff has taken notice to scheduling tougher out of conference games after making the tourney this year. I applaud them as this will only make this team tough and more prepared for conference play, and ultimately, the NCAA Tournament.

    CBSSports.com:
UF projected as the 10th-ranked team in the country at the start of the 2010-11 season.
    Kansas State, No. 5
    Ohio State, No. 7
Xavier and Florida State were not mentioned on the early list of top 25 teams.

This is good to hear. We upgraded our out of conference scedule last year but were still not there yet. This matchup will help.

This is good to hear. I am glad we are playing tougher teams such as K-state. Excellent classic game to help them prepare. They really have us ranked 10th in the poll?

10 does seem kind of high but we do have a lot of guys returning and some solid talent comming in, so I can see it

I'm suprised to see us ahead of Kentucky. The had another stellar recruiting class and I don't think Cal is going to follow LeBron around.

I would put our experience ahead of their talent. We almost beat them both times this year, but lost it in the last 5 minutes. That wont happen this year with all of our seniors starting. Also CBS's "early" top 25 came out before Kentucky landed the No. 9 recruit (ESPN) in the nation (Terrence Jones). The sports writers could easily put Kentucky back in the top 5 with another stellar recruiting class Calipari has assembled this year.

I want to have confidence in the team, but I'vv had too much the past couple years and thats gotten me nowhere. I'm going to temper my expectations.
