After all of the excitement throughout the off-season, all the preseason polls, and what everyone has been waiting for is finally here… and it starts off against Charleston Southern. It’s not really a real test for Florida but at least it’s a start to get them ready. I guess you can say Florida will be having a little scrimmage tonight… But hey! It’s now college football season, we should all be pumped up, even if were to play Texas today or the smallest school in division I.
This is the game everybody has predicted to be a blowout which I’m afraid will be. I have heard the Gators are a 63 point favorite and I have also heard they are a 73 point favorite. You are going to see Tebow and the starters chilling on the sideline before halftime I can tell you that. You might think, why on earth are they playing a team like this? Are they even gaining anything from it? Well the answer is yes, they are gaining something out of a game like this. It’s even better for the second and third string to get on the field and show Meyer and the rest of the coaching staff what they can do in live situations. It’s a great way to help find their weaknesses so they can patch them up before they start playing the tougher teams on the schedule.
Like the new offensive coordinator Steve Addazio said, its a good way for them to go out and run what they have been coached but without being guided by the coaches like they have been in practice.
I was listening to Corso talk on game day and he said with Steve Addazio calling plays and managing the offensive line, it could play in apart of the achilles heel Florida could be dealing with, along with the loss of Percy Harvin and Louis Murphy.
But predicting tonight’s game, I think it will end up 63-7. The players to watch for in tonight’s game: Tim Tebow, Brandon Spikes, Brandon James, and then John Brantley after Tebow puts in time in the first half.
