Tebow Still Undecided About Attending NFL draft

With the 2010 NFL Draft just around the corner, there are eight players who have accepted the invitation to the draft in New York City, but Tebow is not one of the eight.

Ben Volin of Gator Bytes reported that on Saturday at Tebow’s autograph signing in Palm Beach Gardens, Tim said he has not made a final decision yet if he will be attending. Tebow stated that his decision will be based on if he will be able to spend some time with his family during the draft.

Volin reported the following quote from Tebow;

“Is it going to be easy to be with everyone? Because that’s such a moment that will be exciting and special, so I don’t want to just celebrate that with people that I don’t really know and haven’t really been around just to be there in New York,” Tebow said. “So if that’s something we can work out or not, I’ll probably be with my family. I think it’s also just figuring out what’s with my schedule and everything. But then also just being around my family and figuring out what would be fun and what would be the easiest, most relaxed, comfortable spot.”

Usually the NFL only invites around maybe twelve players to the draft but this year it has been extended to about two dozen prospects. Other quarterbacks along with Tebow who have not made a final decision yet are Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy and Jimmy Clausen.

The players will appear in New York on Tuesday which is the night of the draft and they will also be helping out by holding charities and sponsor several events, including a special visit to a children’s hospital before Thursday. So it’s a pretty special thing these players will be doing as well. They are definitely getting something out of their visit to New York besides being selected to play professional football.

Here is the list of players who are already accepted their invite. (Gathered by Volin)

Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma
Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State
Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech
Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma
Dan Williams, DT, Tennessee
Eric Berry, S, Tennessee
Jared Odrick, DT, Penn State

Gator Sports Nation may be catching up with Tebow for an interview in April, so stay tuned.
