Tebow Plays in Senior Bowl Despite Illness

After a week’s long of practices we finally made it to game day. The atmosphere today was second to none as far as past senior bowl goes. As Tebow was about to take the field everyone in attendance was standing and chanting Tebow Tebow Tebow. As he was waiting for his name to be called I was able to get a close up of him and you could definitely tell he wasn’t feeling that great as he was very pale and not his same passionate self as we are all use to seeing from him.

Now to the game Tebow played good not great as he was 8 of 12 for 50 yards and he added 4 rushes for 4 yards as the South lost 31-13 to the North team. In the 4th quarter as Tim was leading the south on the drive he pulled the ball down and was trying to run for a first down and was stripped of the ball as the North team recovered.

As far as his adjustment to the pro-style offense he looked pretty good as he handled the under center snaps and play action well. I would grade Tim at a B- for the week. Some of the struggles this week can be blamed on him being ill from the time he arrived till even game day. I look forward to seeing what Tim shows at the combine as I think he learned a lot this week from working with the NFL coaches.

Riley Cooper had a slow start as on the opening drive for the South team he had a key drop on a big third down play. But Cooper rallied well and ended the day with 2 catches for 37 yards. As always Riley did a great job of blocking on the perimeter

I would grade Riley at an A- to a B+. At times Riley proved to be the best receiver here and then he would try for the highlight catch and would struggle some. But he definitely showed the big play potential that Florida fans are use to seeing. I think as Cooper moves on in his pre combine workouts that he needs to work on getting off press coverage’s and just making the easy plays instead of trying to make the one hand grabs.

This week has been an awesome week covering Tim and Riley and I look forward to seeing them at the combine. I can honestly say that these two guys were probably the fan favorites even though the game was played in Alabama.
