11:00 UPDATE. Michael Taylor has released an official statement on the matter. Taylor: “I have had a change of heart and I have de-committed from Tennessee.”
“I am not ready to release a list of schools yet,” he said. “I am open right now.”

His coach spoke with Chad Simmons of scout earlier this morning and said “Mike is now comitted to Florida.”

So as of now it remains to be seen.

The riot is over, the students are back in their dorms and Lane Kiffin is half way to Los Angeles, California. As the dust settles from the chaos that was Kiffin’s flight from Knoxville things seem to be falling apart with their current recruiting class. It was made known recently that Michael Taylor was the first casualty of the coach-less Tennessee recruiting class. Though Taylor did not explicitly make the news known himself, a teammate of his let slip that he was heading to the Sunshine State to play for the University of Florida.

University of Central Florida commit Tony Jacobs, a teammate of Michael Taylor at Atlanta Westlake High, informed the Orlando Sentinel that the standout linebacker would be decommitting from Tennessee and committing to Florida.

“Yeah he is going to the University of Florida” said Jacob.

When Taylor was finally contacted for comment he did not sound pleased that the news had been reported however he did not deny the the report either.

“They had the nerve to call me and ask me to come to Southern Cal. And Coach Ed Orgeron said that he was going to be my coach at Tennessee.” It is widely known that Orgeron is leaving with Kiffin to be at USC.

This is a good pick up for the Gators of which right now are looking to take one more linebacker after Michael Taylor. Standing at 6’1, 200 pounds, Taylor is a prized recruit that will be now joining the Florida fold.

It is expected that more UT recruit defections are on the way in light of the recent chaos in Knoxville.
