It has been six months since redshirt senior linebacker A.J. Jones went down with a season-ending knee injury just right before the big SEC Championship game took place. Now he has been cleared to return to the field and participate in any football related activity. Jones is excited to return.
Jones spoke with Antonya English of Gator Report;
“I’m good,’ Jones [Antonya English]. “I’m full go. I just saw the doctor for the last time today and he cleared me. I tore two ligaments in my knee – my MCL and ACL. I got hurt in December, so it’s been about six months.”
Jones is already use to the season-ending feeling and knows how to deal with it when it comes to fighting back. Back in 2006 Jones broke his ankle during preseason and was out for the season, during his freshman year that was.
Jones stated that right now he is healthy and is better condition then he has been in a while.
“I’m pretty much solid where I’m at,’ he said. “I’m 227, solid. I could put a few extra pounds on, but coach wants me to really focus on getting back my speed.”
