The number nine overall draft pick for this upcoming 2010 NFL draft in April belongs to the Buffalo Bills and which many people think that’s too high for former Gator quarterback Tim Tebow. He is predicted to be a possible mid second round choice in April, but with his performance not long ago in Gainesville at the Pro Day event, I think Tim could move higher up. He has been turning some heads.
Jeremy Fowler of the Orlando Sentinel, former Bills and Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly took Tebow out for dinner, according to Jim’s wife, Jill Kelly’s twitter account.
“JK is on his way home from having dinner with Tim Tebow,” “I can’t wait to get the full scoop! Can’t wait for draft day!”
Those were her exact words that she tweeted on her account.
Tebow has already worked out with some teams, a couple of them including the Browns and Patriots. He has also scheduled his workouts with the Bills at the beginning of March and look for Tim to be invited to work out with several more soon.
“I like Trent [Edwards] personally,” Kelly said. “He works hard. But he’s had three years. It’s time to find somebody who is the future of the Buffalo Bills. If I’m the owner, that’s what I’m thinking.
“Whether it’s Tim Tebow, whether they’ll have a shot at him when draft time comes . . . you have to look at the top three quarterbacks in the draft, really study them. And you look for a guy with good character, good leadership ability and good arm strength — and a guy who doesn’t come from California.”
I think Tebow would fit pretty well in Buffalo but I also have some reasons why he wouldn’t. I’m not sure if he is just ready yet to face a whole different defense than it is in college, but that is what preseason is for. But that’s why I would like to see him go somewhere like the Patriots or Colts so he is behind a veteran quarterback. It would also be interested to see how he could adapt to the new weather if he were to play somewhere up north where its snowy rather than somewhere where its blazing hot.
