Besides a few guys like Deonte Thompson, Omarius Hines and Carl Moore, the Florida Gators haven’t seen hardly anything from their receivers this season. Those guys have stepped up big but where is everybody else? Got Debose? While Andre Debose was sitting out with a hamstring injury last season the talk was that he was going to be our go to guy and how he is going to be such a big play maker. I seen him maybe once in the game and had the ball thrown to him one time for an in completion. He still has not caught one pass this season. Whats up with that?
Thompson, Hines and Moore hold 55 percent of the Gators receptions out of the Gators 65 percent receiving yards. Looking at the other receivers other then the three, five other receivers have combined for only 14 receptions for 95 yards.
Reading the Florida Today, Meyer stated that Debose has not been practicing very well because he is still trying to learn the offense and switching from the slot to become an outside receiver. So maybe that is the answer to everybody’s question, “Where is Debose at” ? I have been wondering myself.
“It’s normal growth,” he said. “Everyone wants him to be something he’s not. He didn’t play a snap last year after he yanked the hamstring off his bone. I think (his development) is going well”
As for the Chris Rainey deal, just a day after Mike Pouncey spoke out about how he thinks Rainey will be rejoining the team this season, coach Meyer said he has not made any decision yet.
“I’m not even thinking about that right now,” he said. “I’m letting everything be handled. At some point we’ll have to address it, and that point’s not now.”
