Florida, last years college football champions finished No. 1 in the USA today preseason football coaches poll receiving a total number of 53 out of a possible 59 first place votes. Right behind them in second place were the Texas Longhorns with four first place votes.

The rest of the top ten teams featured Oklahoma, USC, Alabama, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Penn State, LSU and Mississippi in that order. That’s four SEC teams in the top 10.

Florida is pumped and ready to kick off the first game on September 5th against Charleston Southern. The Gators had their first practice yesterday which started early before the sun was even out yet. Doesn’t that show a sign of something? A sign that shows you how bad they want a third championship in four years. Tebow wants it bad just as much as anybody to. Prior to the practice yesterday they had, he called up his teammates at 4:30 in the morning, getting them up and ready to work.

They can not afford any costly games like Ole Miss last year. If so then they can kiss their championship good bye. But as long as Tebow takes control like he has been and they continue to put in the hard work, then they could be playing for another National Championship.

Here are the results of the top 25 USA Today Coaches poll.
