The former Gators had a great starting NFL season opener in week 1. Raiders white receiver Louis Murphy did real well. He caught 4 passes for 87 yards and became a hair shy of two touchdowns. Well… he DID catch a touchdown pass but the play was reviewed and evidently there was some kind of evidence that showed that Murphy did not have control when he hit the ground which was not true. But hey… he made up for that call and caught one later in the game. It was just exciting to see his face after the one on Monday night, it was like a kid opening up a present on Christmas.
Percy Harvin doesn’t have to wait to get his first touchdown pass because he already accomplished that on Sunday. Along with the TD pass, Harvin finished up with 3 receptions for 36 yards. Harvin also returned three kick offs for 99 total yards.
For the Bengals, former Gator receiver Andre Caldwell finished up the day with 6 catches for 54 yards.

Louis Murphy did have 4 catches for 85 yards, but that last catch happen to be a Touchdown from JaMarcus Russell from 57 yards out on 4th & 15, late in the game to give the Raiders the lead, before the Chargers went down the field and scored the game winner. Murphy should of had the other touchdown as well. Last time I checked, the ground cannot cause a fumble, unless they changed the rules. He had possession and two feet down in the end zone. Anyways though, great game for a former Gator!
