Reports from the practice field are that Freshman DB Jordan Haden has asked for-and been granted a release from his football scholarship. The 6′ 200 lb defensive back and brother of former UF starter and current Cleveland Browns player Joe Haden, did not show up for practice yesterday.  Will Hill was quoted as saying that he did not know where Haden was, but that he “had not seen him on the practice field in a few days.”

Calls were placed to the UF athletic offices and a collective “no comment” was issued by the staff.  More updates to come as Gatorsportsnation stays on top of this developing story….

UPDATE #1 – 2:45pm -Gatorsportsnation was just advised that there will be no restrictions on the release.  Haden is free to transfer to any school that will accept him as a transfer.
