Florida WR Frankie Hammond Jr. Arrested

Frankie Hammond Jr. was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with DUI and posession.  Hammond was observed swerving and speeding near Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and when pulled over, had whiskey bottles in sight of the officer.  He failed a field subriety test and had a blood alcohol level of 0.88.  He is the second Florida player to be arrested for DUI in the last 7 months following DE Carlos Dunlap who was asleep at the wheel of his car at a red light.  Dunlap was suspended for the SEC Championship Game in December 2009.  If Hammond is not suspended for any games this coming season, the 20 year-old WR was to be a major contributor with the Gators moving to a more traditional passing offense with John Brantly as the new starting QB.  Last fall, Hammond appeared in 5 games having amassed a meager 4 receptions for 57 yards, with 1 TD catch.  Hammond has been suspended by the university pending the outcome of an police and university investigation.
