The Gators, a perennial favorite in the annual recruiting race for talent, are looking good for 2012 with multiple 4 & 5-star recruits.Leading the class is DJ Humphries, an offensive lineman out of Mallard Creek high school in Charlotte, NC. At 6’5, 265 lbs DJ is a 5 star recruit, committed to the University of Florida, who should anchor UF’s line for years to come. According to Rivals com, DJ is the #1 rated player at his position and the 3rd best recruit in the country overall. Also exciting to the Gator Nation is running back Mike Davis who will provide some much needed speed up the middle as the Gators graduate Chris Rainey & Jeff Demps. The Gator Nation loves seeing Gators in the NFL and thats certainly what we hope for with Demps & Rainey.Other committed Gator recruits include: Colin Thompson, a 4 star rated tight end out of Warminster, PA; Jeremi Powell, a linebacker out of Largo, FL; Willie Bailey, a 6’1 DB out of Hallandale; Jessamen Dunker, a 6’6, 315 lb giant out of Boynton Beach; Austin Harden, kicker out of Atlanta; Marcus Maye, a DB out of Melbourne who runs a 4.5 40; Antonio Morrison, a linebacker out of Bolingbrook, IL who has the size and potential to be great.
