According to his personal Twitter account, and various other Gator reporters, the Safety is going to switch his position to Linebacker. Dee Finley is a big athlete, so the switch isn’t mind boggling. His size is good enough to play at that position, and he is still young, which allows him to get more practice time in before he will need to be ready for game day.
Finley played Linebacker in High School at various points, so he feels he has a comfort level at that position. Also, Finley said he was looking at playing the Linebacker position for Florida last season, but with the Gators loaded linebacking core, it made sense to remain at Safety.
The Gators will be using a couple stud Linebackers, including Brandon Spikes and Ryan Stamper. This opens up a spot for Finley to move in and see playing time at that spot, along with some of their incoming Freshman. Let’s hope Finley can make the switch to Linebacker, and make a solid contribution in 2010.

Correction: Spikes is gone so we will have two spots open. Bostic will most likely fill one leaving one open for him to move into
