Bye Week to Fix Gator Offense

The Florida Gators just got done beating Miami last weekend. After a full week of controversy ( Miami ’s Coach Randy Shannon has been complaining about that last minute field goal the Gators kicked), most fans want to see their team back on the field beating up on the competition. Unfortunately for Gator fans, this is a bye week. No game tomorrow! Don’t worry though, there are plenty of good matchups to watch (like OSU vs USC). So find a spot on your couch and get comfy.

Gator players won’t be as fortunate. Just because they have a bye week, doesn’t mean they won’t be practicing. And by the looks of the Gator offense through the first few games, I would expect Coach Urban Meyer to drill these players. The offensive line has especially played horrible through the first two games. Tim Tebow has been getting pressured and hit way more then he should be. We thought the O-line would be a strength this year with Phil Trautwein coming back and the development of the Pouncey twins. They need to get their act together.

I’m glad the Gators have a bye week now so Meyer can better prepare them for SEC play coming up on September 20th (the Gators will be traveling to Tennessee to face the Vols). Their offense must improve if they want to win in the SEC. Miami has a good defense, but they shouldn’t have limited the Gators to only 1 touchdown in the first three quarters. Having the extra week to practice will give the Gators the extra reps they need to get the offense in sync.
