Strengths
Louis Murphy has very good size at 6’2″/205 lbs. He is a terrific athlete with long arms and has  a great burst of explosiveness.  He’s quick off of the line of scrimmage and usually gets a lot of separation from defenders. Murphy has good hands and can make difficult catches. He’s shown elusiveness with the ball in his hands and can change directions well. Louis has never shown fear in going across the middle of the defense. This guy is tough, and has a lot of upside.  Some teams may attempt to use him as a kick/punt returner, which could possibly workout because of his speed. Murphy definitely has the potential to be successful in the NFL.

Louis Murphy makes an excellent sideline catch against the LSU Tigers.

Weaknesses
As for route running, Louis needs work here. He’s not bad at running routes, but he needs to show improvement.  Louis will have to get much stronger to avoid being knocked around by NFL defenders. He loses control on big hits, so ball security may be an issue. He does not attack corners to block on run plays, and hesitates, which allows defenders to get into the play. In his early years at Florida, Murphy had a few discipline problems, but over time he developed  into a more well-liked, respectful player.
