Four star Defensive End, Dominique Easley, has just chosen Florida during the Under Armour All American Game. The 6’3″, 258 lbs linemen ranks #1 in the state of New York, according to Rivals.com. Hopefully Easley can take over for Florida’s talented DE’s, Carlos Dunlap and Jermaine Cunningham.

We are still awaiting Chris Dunkley’s decision at the Under Armour All American Game. Stay tuned, GSN will report his decision as it happens.

Aaron Hernandez Headed to Hospital Following Game

Posted by Staff Writers on January 2nd, 2010   No Comment

Though it wasn’t noticeable, Tight End Aaron Hernandez suffered an injury to his left finger. Following the play, you could see Hernandez rubbing the area that just was bothering him, and once the game ended, Hernandez made a trip to the hospital, where he would end up having surgery on his left finger.

Hernandez had this to say about his NFL future following the conclusion on last night’s victory. “If I’m in the top two rounds, most likely I’ll apply to the NFL draft.”

Redemption Vs. Perfection: Janoris Jenkins to Play in Sugar Bowl; Other Pregame Notes

Posted by Staff Writers on January 1st, 2010   No Comment

Earlier reports stated that Florida Cornerback, Janoris Jenkins, would not play into tonight’s game against Cincinatti. Moments before the game, it was announced that Jenkins WILL play tonight, which will only help the Florida defense against Cincy’s aerial assault.

Defensive Tackle Terron Sanders is NOT dressed, which rules him out for tonight’s game. He is out with a torn ACL.

S Dee Finley is out with an athletic pubalgia injury

The Cincinatti band decides to play “Superman” theme. Do they not realize that Superman is Tim Tebow? Interesting choice of music.

Wow! I’m glad they did a little pregame video on Senior Captain Joey Sorrentino. Unlike the other Gators, this will be his last ever football game.

*UPDATE Center Maurkice Pouncey is NOT practicing with the first or second team in warmups. We are unsure what this is about, but maybe there an injury we don’t know about.

Could Tonight Mark The End Of A Dynasty?

Posted by Staff Writers on January 1st, 2010   No Comment

After the Sugar Bowl, Florida’s dynasty could be coming to an end. They will be losing many of their key performers, and will even lose many of there coaches. Let’s see…

  • Tim Tebow – Gone
  • Brandon Spikes, Ryan Stamper, Dustin Doe - Gone
  • Riley Cooper and David Nelson - Gone
  • Aaron Hernandez – Possibly gone
  • Pouncey twins – Possibly gone
  • Joe Haden, Major Wright, Ahmad Black - Most likely gone
  • Carlos Dunlap – Most likely gone
  • Jermaine Cunningham – Gone
  • Charlie Strong – Gone

That is a lot of talent gone in only one year. Florida may have some good depth on their roster, but to replace all of those guys would be unheard of. Basically what I am saying is to enjoy tonight’s game, soak it all in, and get your last look at one of the greatest team’s in college football history.

Demar Dorsey Losing Interest In Florida?

Posted by Staff Writers on December 31st, 2009   No Comment

Well this Urban Meyer drama has caused an uproar in recruiting. We have already reported that Matt Elam decommitted, and will now attend Florida State. Well, the Gators might be losing out on another top talent in Florida, Demar Dorsey. Upon hearing the news about Meyer, Dorsey began contemplating on his future.

He will be visiting Tennessee January 14, and we know how Lane Kiffin recruits. Expect Kiffin to unload every negative thing about Florida to Dorsey, including the uncertainty of Meyer’s future. The Wide Receiver from Florida has lowered the Gators to a “65 percent commitment”. In addition to Meyer taking a leave of absence, Dorsey is also upset that Wide Receiver coach, Billy Gonzales, is now no longer with Florida.

Clearly, Urban Meyer is costing the Gators right now in recruiting. Hopefully Dorsey will choose Florida, and the Gators better hope they don’t lose out on any other recruits.

It’s Official: Matt Elam Switches From Florida To Florida State

Posted by Staff Writers on December 31st, 2009   1 Comment

We recently reported that Matt Elam was stuck on his decision following the news of Urban Meyer’s leave of absence. It appeared that Elam would still attend Florida, but that is not the case anymore. Reports are out that the Dwyer High School Running Back/Safety has decided that he will attend Florida State.

The Gators have lost out on one of the top talents in the state of Florida, and the decision by Elam to decommit from Florida has shown how the whole Meyer situation has affected the recruiting process.

*UPDATE: Matt Elam has confirmed the reports, and he will be attending Florida State. A bad day for Florida’s future.
