The Israeli import, Nimrod Tishman, has officially been named to the 2009-10 Florida Gators’ Men’ s Basketball team after he was cleared by the NCAA. Tishman is now ready to take all of his fall classes that were assigned and is set and ready to start up the season for the Gators this year.
Tishman was committed to Florida not long ago and now it’s official. He will definitely give the Gators some help in the back court after the loss of Nick Calathes which is huge and Florida needs all the help they can get in the guard spot. That’s going to be their biggest weakness for the upcoming 09-10 season.
Tishman will be assigned with jersey No. 42 which was also former Gator great Al Horford’s jersey number in the back to back National Championship seasons he won with Florida.
I’m real excited to see how he does this year. Hopefully the physical play over in Israeli carries over with him to the Gators.

Thats ridiculous the gators have Kenny Boynton jr. and Ray Shippam at the guard spot they don’t some isreali dude that no one knows how good he even is? thats stupid
Huh Mike,
Shipman and Boynton, Jr. are off-guards, Tishman is a PG, something that UF needs.
Tishman played very well on a young national team (one of Israel’s worst). He and Carmel Bouchman (heading to Temple) were basically the only two to show up.
UF needs a 1, unless of course you think Erving Walker can do it all by himself.
