Former freshman forward Allan Chaney has found a new home to play basketball next year for coach Seth Greenberg and the Virginia Tech Hokies.

The 6 foot 8 freshman left the University Of Florida because of playing time issues and who was also suspended in the last two games for the Gators. He averaged 3 points and roughly 2 rebounds for Florida, and he never knew why he didn’t get to see the floor more. Chaney battled an injury in the mid point of the season.

Chaney had some size to him and Florida could have used him the next few years, but maybe this is a better decision for himself. I know he moved from up north and when I first met him here in Florida, he told me that he was very unconfertable and he didn’t know where anything was around Gainesville. He basically camped out in his dorm room all the time.

Chaney will have a whole new beginning in Virginia. His other options where he could of landed were St. Joes and Temple. His choices were close to where his mother lives at and thats what he wanted most, to be closer. (Pulled from Star-Banner).

I wish the best of luck to Allan throughout his collegiate career, hope he does well at VT and turns out very successful.
