Nick Calathes’s career as a Florida Gator has ended short. Calathes has decided to not return for his junior year at the University Of Florida so he can play overseas in the Euroleague.

Calathes is signing a three year contract in the league and could get around $2 million a year. He still could be drafted into the NBA draft coming up this June.

Nick has two excellent years at Florida, leading the Gators in scoring both seasons and breaking a school record for assists. I personally think Calathes is leaving too early but I’m sure the decision he is making has been well thought threw and is the right one. I wish he could of stayed longer and helped out the team the next couple years, but I respect his decision.

It looks like Erving Walker will need to really step it up and be a leader next year, and hopefully Kenny Boynton, the incoming freshman helps out a lot.
