Gators Finish Regular Season

The Gator baseball team finished up the season winning two out of a three game series against Kentucky which is what they were looking forward to but they will have to wait until next year to get another chance at the SEC title.

With the victories from the LSU Tigers and the Rebels, it will keep Florida out another year. Coach Kevin O’Sullivan is still proud of his ball club for what all they accomplished this season.

The Gators came in the game facing Kentucky ranked 11 and with a record of (38-18, 19-11). Florida lit it up in the seventh inning putting up several runs to extend the lead even more.

Florida is now the No. 2 seed in the Eastern division and now they will play in the double-elimination SEC tournament starting this week that takes place in Alabama. I have a feeling they will do very good throughout the tournament. They will face the seventh seed Arkansas at 11am on Wednesday. Do not just look at Arkansas record (32-20, 14-15) because they swept UF when they came to Gainesville so you really cannot under estimate them. Anything can happen between the two teams.

All they need to do is really do what they are capable of doing, and that is winning. As long as their defense is solid and they swing the bats, then they should come out with a win.
