Florida Gator All-American gymnast Melanie Sinclair was arrested on Tuesday for storing stolen items such as guns, computers, and a safe in her apartment. Sinclair’s apartment was stuffed with nine guns, either shotguns or rifles the Gainesville police said, and stolen computers.

Her boyfriend, identified as Bud Williams was arrested on October 1 for carrying a loaded 12 gauge through her apartment. He know faces 11 counts of possession of firearm, a convicted felon, burglary, theft and also theft of a firearm at the time when he was arrested.

Sinclair is a red shirt senior and nine time All-American is suspended from the team. She still holds the school record at Florida, 10.0 in the uneven bars three times.

She faces two felony accounts. One of Larceny and the other of burglary.

I think her boyfriend has a big part on her mistake. She has such a bright future, a great athlete and she doesn’t need this in her life. She has too much talent to let go to waste.
