- Sources have told Gator Sports Nation that Will Muschamp Texas Defensive Coordinator and Head Coach in waiting will be named the head coach of the Florida Gators. Muschamp is considered to be one of the premier coordinators and recruiters in the country and has been on many short lists for head coaching jobs such as Georgia.
Muschamp has led top ranked defenses at LSU from 2001-2004, Auburn 2006-2007, and Texas from 2008-2010 as well as being the Assistant Head Coach for the Miami Dolphins under Nick Saban. Along with his defensive rankings, he has also produced great NFL talent.
In 2008 Texas had announced they would make Will Muschamp the head coach in waiting to succeed Mack Brown and would increase his salary $900,000.
